
MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) - Net profit of the Belarusian organizations increased by 25% in January-April 2023, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Council of Ministers to discuss Belarus' social and economic development at the start of the year, BelTA has learned.
Roman Golovchenko stressed that the situation in the labor market remained manageable. “All this is based on the real results of economic performance. The financial performance of organizations has significantly improved - net income increased by 25% to Br4.7 billion, while the amount of net losses of unprofitable organizations has decreased by 27% and the number of loss-making organizations has gone down by 86 companies,” he said.
According to the operative data, in January-April 2023 industrial output increased by 2.3%, agricultural output by 3.7%. “Last year's level of retail and wholesale trade has been restored,” the Belarusian head of government said.
