MINSK DISTRICT, 26 May (BelTA) - Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation (BNBC) will be increasing the production of compound feed for high-value fish, Vasilina Akhramovich, Director for Economics and Finance at BNBC, told the media on the sidelines of the biotechnology forum of the Belarus-Russia Union State, BelTA has learned.
"Belarus has long established itself on the world market as an agricultural leader in meat, milk and other livestock products. It is logical that the country needed a flagship company in the feed industry. That was how the BNBC was set up. At today's event, we want to show our Russian colleagues our achievements, production capacities and share our experience. Using the example of BNBC, we want to show the entire cycle of feed production," Vasilina Akhramovich said.
The business program includes several sections. He forum is attended by a large delegation from the Russian Federation: the largest manufacturers of animal feed, premixes and potential consumers of amino acids.
"Particular attention will be paid to aquaculture and fishing, since last year Belarus launched the export of feed for high-value fish. We will continue to develop this line of business and increase production. We also seek to involve the banking sector, since in the current conditions they are the key tool for stimulating import substitution in the Union State," Vasilina Akhramovich noted.
