Belarusian Bellesbumprom's exports to Russia up by 1.5 times in January-September

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Enterprises affiliated with the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom exported $ 207.3 million worth of goods to Russia in January-September 2021, up by 1.5 times year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of the concern.

“The Russian market remains the main market for Bellesbumprom companies. It accounted for 29.6% of the total exports in January-September 2021. Goods are supplied to 68 Russian regions, including such geographically remote as Khabarovsk Krai and Primorsky Krai, Amur Oblast and Irkutsk Oblast, Khakassia and Buryatia. The Republic of Karelia accounts for the largest share ($30.9 million in January-September 2021, up by 3.5 times year-on-year), and is followed by Moscow Oblast ($2.8 million, up by 1.4 times) and the city of Moscow ($18.5 million, up by 1.3 times)," the press service said.

In terms of the commodity structure of exports, furniture accounted for the lion's share (27.3%), fiberboard for 19.2%, paper and cardboard 18.9%, cellulose 14.6% and particle boards for 10.6%. Other major export items include wallpaper, wooden doors, windows, various containers, plywood, matches, forest chemistry products and other goods.

Bellesbumprom will continue advancing cooperation with partners from Russia. This will be facilitated by the Supreme State Council's ordinance on the guidelines to implement the Union State Treaty in 2021-2023, the press service emphasized.

"The Union State programs clearly spell out the mechanisms for the development of the common economic space: integrating sectoral markets, harmonizing financial, tax, pricing and trade policies. “This suggests that integration ties will be even more harmonized, and trade and economic cooperation in the Union State will reach a new, higher level and will benefit all participants in the common market of goods and services," Bellesbumprom said.
