MOSCOW, 18 July (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko met with First Deputy Governor of Russia's Kaluga Oblast Dmitry Denisov on the sidelines of the 6th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in St Petersburg on 17 July, the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia told BelTA.
The Belarusian side underlined interest in increasing trade turnover, in advancing regional cooperation at the level of oblasts and districts of Belarus and Kaluga Oblast across the board.
Vladimir Semashko noted that an information and sales center operates in Kaluga Oblast. It sells products made by the Belarusian tractor maker MTZ, Bobruiskagromash, and Gomselmash. The Belarusian company OAO BATE, which is the managing company of the holding company Automotive Components, and OAO Borisov Plant Avtogydrousilitel have established cooperation with Kaluga Oblast automobile industry enterprises. The ambassador confirmed Belarus' readiness to satisfy the Russian region's demand for grain and forage harvesters, grain-drying and grain-cleaning machines. He expressed interest in continued work on setting up an agricultural machinery holding company based on OOO KalugaSelMash and PAO Aggregate Plant. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian State University, and the Minsk Oblast technology park are ready to cooperate with Kaluga Oblast technology parks in the area of robot technology and the joint production of medications.
In turn, Dmitry Denisov noted that Belarusian specialists contribute a lot to local civil engineering projects. The construction of the residential complex Annenki and the mini-polis Vesnushki in Kaluga continues. He expressed interest in further advancement of manufacturing cooperation in the course of building social infrastructure.
