Belarusian agrarians harvest over 1.5m tonnes of grain

MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – Belarusian agrarians have already harvested 1.539 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As for 23 July, Brest Oblast harvested 531,400 tonnes of grain, Minsk Oblast – 308,300 tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 285,900 tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 236,800 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 123,800 tonnes. Vitebsk Oblast, which joined the harvest campaign last, has cropped 53,700 tonnes of grain.

Cereal and leguminous crops were cut from 476,000 hectares, 22% of the total sown area. Brest Oblast is leading with its harvest 42.8% complete.

The average yield makes up 32.4 centners per hectare this year.
