
MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – On 9 June Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik met with Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate and Rural Development of the Republic of Zimbabwe Anxious Masuka, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties highlighted the friendly and mutually respectful nature of bilateral relations. They reaffirmed their determination to fully implement bilateral agreements in agriculture and food production in order to achieve food security in Zimbabwe. They discussed supplies of Belarus' agricultural machinery and equipment to Zimbabwe, the possibility of using Belarus' advanced solutions and technologies in creating agro-industrial enterprises in Zimbabwe.
Anxious Masuka conveyed a special message from the president of Zimbabwe to the president of Belarus.
The visit of the Zimbabwean minister is part of the measures to implement the agreements reached during the state visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Harare in January 2023, as well as the visit of the First Lady of Zimbabwe to Belarus in April.
During the visit to Belarus, the Zimbabwean delegation will tour Belarusian milk and meat processing enterprises, the international agricultural expo Belagro 2023, and attend the first meeting of the Belarus-Zimbabwe working group on cooperation in agriculture.
