Belarus wants more access to Chinese market

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Belarus and China are in talks over the greater access for Belarusian goods to the Chinese market, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Beijing.

This matter was discussed by Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Khotko and Li Guo, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China, Deputy Customs Commissioner-General, at a meeting on 5 November. Attending the meeting was also Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy. “The parties discussed a possibility to give a greater access for Belarusian goods to the Chinese market. They agreed to launch the accreditation procedure for more types of agricultural products and foodstuffs that Belarus wants to sell on the Chinese market,” the diplomatic mission informed.

At the end of the meeting the parties signed a protocol on quarantine requirements for Belarusian poultry. This protocol provides for the access for a broad range of poultry products to the Chinese market. The meeting took place during the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.
