Belarus' vice premier confident in positive outcome of talks on tax maneuver with Russia

MOSCOW, 10 December (BelTA) – I expect that the talks on tax maneuver in the oil industry with Russia will be positive, Belarus' Vice Premier Igor Lyashenko told the media in Moscow on 8 December, BelTA has learned.

“The message we heard from the heads of state in St Petersburg [at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council] says that it will be so,” Igor Lyashenko said when asked about the prospects for solving the issue with the tax maneuver compensation for Belarus.

The vice premier added that his talks with Russian Vice Premier Dmitry Kozak on the matter are scheduled for 11 December.

“Our vision is clear: the Eurasian agreements signed in 2016 stipulated both the sums [for Belarus] and the reasons for these compensations. We explained these calculations to Russia. Even before the meeting of the heads of state, my Russian counterpart did not doubt the correctness of the calculations,” Igor Lyashenko said. He added that the discussion is underway on the amount of the compensation.
