Belarus, Turkey plan to conclude trade in services agreement

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) - Belarus and Turkey plan to conclude a trade in services agreement. The terms of reference for negotiating this agreement was signed by Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov and Turkish Ambassador to Belarus Mustafa Ozcan in Minsk on 10 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

The terms of reference regulates the legal framework and basic principles of the negotiations on the future agreement. It is expected that the agreement will create favorable conditions for the expansion of the structure and volume of Belarusian export of services to Turkey, and later - to the Middle East and North Africa markets,” the press service said. In addition, it will create additional incentives for Turkish business to invest in the Belarusian services sector.

The first round of the negotiations is expected to take place in June this year.

The parties also exchanged views on the progress in the investment projects implemented in Belarus with the participation of Turkish business.

Aleksandr Chervyakov thanked Ambassador Mustafa Ozcan for Turkey's active support of Belarus in its negotiations on the accession to the WTO.
