Belarus' trade with Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast shows positive dynamics

MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Belarus' trade with Sverdlovsk Oblast shows positive dynamics. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik mentioned it during a meeting with a Sverdlovsk Oblast delegation led by First Deputy Governor Aleksei Shmykov, BelTA has learned.

Piotr Parkhomchik said that Belarus traditionally enjoys warm and comradely relations with Sverdlovsk Oblast. “It is very important that our friendship produces good results. Trade turnover is on the rise as well as import. And this trend is systemic. Last year saw a new record high – trade turnover increased by virtually 1.5 times. January-February 2023 also demonstrated positive dynamics. It means that we pursue an absolutely balanced and correct policy,” the official stressed.

Sverdlovsk Oblast is interested in Belarusian products and in selling its goods to Belarusian enterprises. “It is important that in the period of sanctions-fuelled pressure we have once again found convergence points. We have to think about further advancement of cooperation,” the deputy prime minister of Belarus said.

Piotr Parkhomchik reminded that Belarus will act as a partner country during the forthcoming international industrial expo Innoprom, which will take place in Yekaterinburg in July 2023. “We are scrupulously preparing for it not only in the manufacturing sector. But we also intend to present organic food, cultural exchange, education, and other fields,” he added.
