Belarus to supply granaries to Sudan

MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Belarus will supply granaries with the capacity of 1 million tonnes to Sudan, Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats told the media on 10 December, BelTA has learned.

He emphasized the importance of the Belarusian-Sudanese cooperation in agriculture. The two states are currently implementing the Belarusian-Sudanese framework contacts on the delivery of Belarusian granaries and farming machinery. In accordance with document Belarus shall supply granaries with a capacity of 1 million tonnes. With regard to the financing mechanism, Leonid Zayats said: “We have reached an agreement on this issue. There is understanding between the National Bank of Belarus and the Agricultural Bank of Sudan.”

The minister also spoke about other projects that are currently underway or in the pipeline in animal husbandry, vegetable growing, personnel training. Belarusian products and technologies are in demand in Sudan. In this regard, promising are the projects to set up joint ventures to manufacture meat and dairy products, animal fodder, to grow vegetables.
