Belarus to sign contract on BelAZ hauler delivery to India in summer

MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – Belarus hopes to sign a big contact on the delivery of BelAZ haulers to India before the end of summer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka (on concurrent accreditation) Andrei Rzheussky told BelTA.

“This year we have won two tenders to supply a big number of BelAZ vehicles to India. We are talking about haulers with the carrying capacity of 130t and 240t,” he said.

The decision on winning the tender was announced at the start of the year. “Because of the parliamentary elections which kicked off in India in April, the coordination and signing of the contract was postponed due to the introduction of the Code of Conduct, under which none of high officials could sign any documents. As to date, there are all legal grounds to sign the contract. I hope BelAZ representatives will come to India in August and sign all the necessary documents,” the ambassador explained.

Andrei Rzheussky did not name the sum and details of the contract. There are plans to supply vehicles and also spare parts and consumable items to them within two or three years. The period of after-sales maintenance will make up eight years.
