Belarus to set up its first state corporation in farm machinery industry

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – Belarus' first state corporation will be established in the agricultural machinery industry, Belarus Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov told journalists at the presentation of Belarus' social and economic development program for 2021-2025 on 19 January, BelTA has learned.

“We have looked into the prospects for setting up the first pilot state corporation in the agricultural machinery industry, which will comprise about 30 enterprises with Br3 billion in overall revenues,” Aleksandr Chervyakov said.

The Belarusian Economy Ministry expects the first state corporation to become a major player in foreign markets for agricultural machinery.

Belarus is mulling over setting up seven state corporations in the industrial sector for a start. “This will help pool resources, reduce costs, find new ways to solve financial recovery issues, and increase yields on state assets, primarily thanks to improving the asset management system,” Aleksandr Chervyakov explained.
