Belarus to provide humanitarian assistance to Syria

MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – The list of goods as humanitarian assistance for Syria to the total amount of Br988,790 was approved by Council of Ministers' Resolution No.893 of 12 December 2018. The document was officially published on the national legal internet portal on 14 December, BelTA has learned.

Belarus will send to Syria two haulers and a MAZ bus, simulators, clothes, footwear, furniture, prosthetic cardiac valves, medications and unskimmed milk powder.

The Emergencies Ministry, the Industry Ministry and the Transport and Communications Ministry have been instructed to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the seaport of Latakia in Syria. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will assist in the transfer of the humanitarian aid. The Finance Ministry will reimburse all necessary transportation, travel and other expenses. The Finance Ministry will also allocate funds for reimbursement to ministries and departments that ensured the release of goods ​​and their cost with the funds provided in the national budget for covering the costs associated with natural disasters, accidents and catastrophes.

The document takes effect on the day of its adoption.
