Belarus to meet macroeconomic parameters of midterm program in 2019

MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – In 2019 Belarus will be on track to meet the macroeconomic parameters envisaged in the country's medium-term development program, Belarus Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi told the media on the sidelines of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, BelTA has learned.

The minister voiced the main macroeconomic parameters of next year: GDP - 104%, investment - 109%, average wages – Br1,025, inflation – 5%. “Next year the country will hit the macroeconomic parameters laid out in the 2016-2020 program,” he said.

According to Dmitry Krutoi, he does not share the World Bank's opinion of the ongoing recession in the country. “Moreover, this year, alongside with the country's GDP and salary figures, we can see a higher pace of investments in capital, equipment, building and assembly works. This shows that both local and foreign businessmen are confident about the country's doing business climate and macroeconomic policy. Our goal is to promote investment in the country,” the minister said.
