MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – Belarus plans to compete the planting of early spring cereals and leguminous crops before 25 April, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats said in the interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“The work is in full swing everywhere. The task is to complete early planting before 20 April in Grodno, Brest, Gomel and Minsk oblasts, and before 25 April in Mogilev and Vitebsk oblasts. All in all, early spring crops need to be sown on the area of 650,000 hectares,” Leonid Zayats said.
According to him, top dressing of winter crops, winter colza, and perennial grasses has been almost finished.
“This year the farmers feel confidently, because the preparation for the sowing season has been held at a sufficiently high level, and the machinery has been repaired. All regions are better prepared this year than they were in 2022. In particular, more mineral fertilizers have been accumulated,” the deputy prime minister said.
