Belarus to build around 1,400 iron removal stations by 2025

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) - About 1,4000 iron removal stations will be built in Belarus by 2025, Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Kukharev said in an interview with the INT TV channel, BelTA informs.

The quality of drinking water in Belarus complies with the sanitary standards, Vladimir Kukharev said. However, a high content of iron still remains a problem. To address it, the country has drawn up a program to build 1,400 iron removal stations by 2025.

“Sixty stations have been built over the last three years,” the vice premier said.

Credit resources of international financial institutions, including the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, are used to implement these measures. "Credits are allocated on good terms. They will help us implement some of the largest investment projects in a short period of time,” Vladimir Kukhanev said.
