Belarus to attend Annual Meetings of Boards of Governors of IMF, WBG

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian delegation has gone off to Washington DC, the United States to take part in the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG), BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

The visit will last through 20 October. The delegation comprises Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi, Finance Minister Maksim Yermolovich, and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank Dmitry Kalechits.

The Belarusian delegation also plans to meet with representatives of leading international financial institutions, such as the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and International Monetary Fund.

Participation in such events is necessary to maintain a constructive dialogue in the interests of developing a positive image of the country with a favorable investment climate and a stable macroeconomic situation in the international arena, the press service said.
