Belarus takes part in textile trade fair in Moscow

MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – A Bellegprom delegation headed by its leader Tatiana Lugina attended the Textillegprom federal trade fair in Moscow, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom.

Bellegprom was represented by Orsha Linen Mill, Gronitex, Lenta, Slonim Worsted and Spinning Factory and Polesie.

Tatiana Lugina had a number of meetings during the trade fair. During a meeting with Chairman of Roslegprom Aleksandr Kruglik and representatives of the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry the parties discussed ways of increasing the efficiency of participation of Belarusian and Russian enterprises in light industry exhibitions, particularly in the upcoming Russian Textile Week in March. “The parties noted the need of cooperating to protect the common market from illegal imports, to support exporters, and to supply the industry with domestic raw materials,” the press service noted.

The Belarusian officials met with Director of the Russian Footwear Union Aleksandra Andrunakievich to discuss the problem of declining demand for leather goods. “Both in Russia and Belarus the demand for leather and leather footwear is falling. An agreement was reached to elaborate joint measures to support leather and footwear enterprises,” the press service informed.

Tatiana Lugina also had negotiations with State Secretary - Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Yevtukhov of Russia and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich. The parties discussed product labeling, considered the main areas for cooperation in light industry, including the protection of the EAEU domestic market, and supplying enterprises with domestic raw materials.
