MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – Belarus has suggested setting up a road construction consortium and a railway enterprise to Moldova. The matter was discussed as Ambassador of Belarus to Moldova Anatoly Kalinin met with Moldovan Economy and Infrastructure Minister Sergiu Railean, BelTA has learned.
During the talks Anatoly Kalinin mentioned Belarus' readiness to share its experience of building concrete motorways and runways, of modernizing housing and utilities infrastructure, and transport infrastructure. For the sake of expanding interaction and building long-term cooperation the Moldovan side was invited to consider the establishment of a joint road construction consortium and enterprises to repair railway rolling stock and the relevant infrastructure in Moldova using manufacturing cooperation schemes.
The sides mentioned the constructive nature of Belarus-Moldova cooperation and agreed to schedule the next session of the Belarus-Moldova intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Minsk taking into account the epidemic situation.
Anatoly Kalinin and Sergiu Railean believe that Belarus and Moldova have a significant untapped potential in the spheres of trade and economy. They agreed to expedite work on the implementation of joint manufacturing cooperation projects in the areas of the manufacturing sector, transport and road construction.
