Belarus signs $335m contracts to supply goods to Russia

MOGILEV, 12 October (BelTA) - Belarusian industrial enterprises signed contracts to supply $335 million worth of products to Russia during the meeting of the Business Cooperation Council as part of the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Mogilev on 12 October, BelTA learned from Vladimir Ulakhovich, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Business Cooperation Council is a new platform within the framework of the Forum of Regions. According to Vladimir Ulakhovich, this is an opportunity for the CEOs of major enterprises and business people to discuss topical issues of mutual cooperation. Today, the priority topics were industrial cooperation and overcoming the barriers that still exist in foreign trade. The parties also discussed import substitution.

“Such meetings always bring good results. We signed 13 contracts worth $335 million. This is a very significant achievement. I think this format of meetings will be employed during the next Forum of Regions. This is the voice of enterprises, the voice of business. This is a very important contribution to all other forum formats,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

Mogilevkhimvolokno and MTZ signed the biggest contracts with the Russian partners.
