Belarus' services export to Serbia 11 times up in Q1 2020

MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – Belarus' export of services to Serbia surged by 11 times in Q1 2020 over the same period of 2019. This matter was in focus of a videoconference of the Belarusian part of the Belarusian-Serbian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation chaired by Belarus' Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovich, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry.

In Q1 2020, the trade between the countries reached $30 million. Export of Belarusian goods almost halved year-on-year and came at $14.6 million. “However, the decrease in Belarus' merchandise export was compensated by the surge in the services export. It exceeded $25.2 million, 11 times up over Q1 2019. Construction services of the Beltruboprovodstroy company accounted for the main share of Belarus' services export to Serbia,” the press service noted.

Participants of the videoconference discussed prospects for shipment of products of the Belarusian automobile engineering companies BelAZ and MAZ and the Belarusian steel mill BMZ to Serbia. The agenda also included other important matters of development of Belarus-Serbia cooperation.
