Belarus seeks to increase trade with Azerbaijan

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA – Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov met with Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Belarus Ulvi Bakhshaliyev on 18 November. The parties discussed a wide range of issues, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Economy Ministry.

The parties talked over in detail the situation with mutual trade and focused on the ways to increase it.

The minister suggested increasing the supply of Belarusian food, engineering products, construction materials and other goods to Azerbaijan. Aleksandr Chervyakov emphasized the potential for cooperation in the services sector: tourism, logistics, trade, construction, and in particular, the participation in the construction of social facilities in Azerbaijan.

According to the diplomat, the construction of agro-towns using the Belarusian experience, and also the expansion of joint production could be in demand in Azerbaijan.

The Ganja Automobile Plant and the Azerbaijan Trading House were named as examples of fruitful bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting special attention was paid to the issue of building cooperative production chains. They will help increase mutual trade and make it more balanced.
