Belarus, Russia's Kaluga Oblast to draw up cooperation program for 2021-2023

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Kaluga Oblast of Russia will prepare a new cooperation program for 2021-2023. This decision was made after the fourth meeting of the bilateral working group on cooperation led by Chairman of Belarus' State Science and Technology Committee Aleksandr Shumilin and First Deputy Governor of Kaluga Oblast Dmitry Denisov, BelTA learned from the State Science and Technology Committee.

More than 25 Belarusian manufacturing companies from all regions of the country are participating in the Belarus Week in Kaluga fair. Among them are Kupalinka and Svitanak apparel companies, Babushkina Krynka dairy, Kommunarka, Spartak and Krasny Pischevik confectioneries, Grodno meat processing plant and MAZ utilities vehicles.

Belarus and Russia's Kaluga Oblast cooperate in science via joint projects with Obninsk science organizations to train highly qualified personnel for nuclear energy and also via joint academic programs to share experience and to exchange seismic and geophysical data. As for economic cooperation, the bilateral trade amounted to $295.4 million in H1 2019, up by 8.8% year-on-year.
