Belarus, Russia to discuss oil industry tax revision compensation after 7 November

GRODNO, 6 November (BelTA) – Deputy prime ministers of Belarus and Russia will meet soon to discuss the compensation mechanism in response to Russian oil industry tax adjustments. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Lyashenko made the statement as he visited OAO Grodno Azot on 6 November, BelTA has learned.

Work continues on the size of the compensation the Belarusian economy should get due to changes in the taxation of the Russian oil industry.

Working groups of the Energy Ministry and the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim have already done their work. A personal meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak is supposed to take place after 7 November to discuss this sensitive issue, noted Igor Lyashenko.

The official added that there are no unresolved issues concerning oil deliveries.

“All the schedules have been signed. We are getting ready for standard routine work,” stressed Igor Lyashenko.
