Belarus ready to meet Zimbabwe's needs for all types of machinery

MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to meet Zimbabwe's demand for all kinds of machinery, Belarus' Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik said as he met with the official delegation of the Republic of Zimbabwe led by Minister of Local Government and Public Works July Moyo, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.

Aleksandr Rogozhnik highlighted the significant potential for building up bilateral contacts and implementing joint projects in the industrial sector. “During the state visit of the president of the Republic of Belarus to Zimbabwe, the food security of Zimbabwe was discussed. Belarus manufactures all types of equipment that Zimbabwe needs (road construction machinery, utility vehicles, firefighting vehicles, agricultural machinery, etc.). And we are ready to discuss and work on all practical aspects of our cooperation,” the minister stressed.

Enterprises of the Industry Ministry can offer a wide assortment of products. These are not only various types of automotive and agricultural equipment, but also mobile medical complexes, diesel generator stations, etc.

July Moyo, for his part, noted that the two countries created favorable conditions for promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in the long term. Official and working visits, including at the highest level, are instrumental in building bilateral contacts. The minister of local government and public works expressed interest in purchasing Belarusian agricultural equipment, fire engines, mobile medical complexes and other types of equipment.

The parties also discussed the possibility of setting up factories to assemble Belarusian equipment in Zimbabwe. Taking part in the talks was Chargé d'Affaires of Zimbabwe in Belarus Kudakwashe Lawrence Goniwa.

During their visit to Belarus, the official delegation of the Republic of Zimbabwe will tour a number of enterprises of the Industry Ministry, study the production of Belarusian equipment and hold talks on joint projects.

Aleksandr Rogozhnik informed that the Industry Ministry delegation is going to visit Zimbabwe to discuss plans to expand cooperation in the manufacturing sector.
