Belarus proposes to Kyrgyzstan to draw up roadmap for cooperation

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) - Belarus invites Kyrgyzstan to prepare a roadmap for cooperation, Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Kyrgyzstan counterpart Kubatbek Boronov in Minsk on 17 July, BelTA has learned.

“We need to put our cooperation on a systemic track. We need a roadmap for our agencies to work in a coordinated way and look for projects that are advantageous for the two countries," Roman Golovchenko said.

According to him, Belarus has always advocated systemic development of relations with Kyrgyzstan in both multilateral and bilateral formats. In recent years, the trade between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan has not been as successful as it could have been. “In January-May we had a small increase in trade but this is not enough for optimism,” said the Belarusian head of government.

He noted that Belarus is interested in establishing joint productions in Kyrgyzstan. For example, projects to manufacture electrical products and elevators are in the works.
