MOSCOW, 19 July (BelTA) - An event to showcase Belarus' machine-building industry was organized for Japanese business people in the business and cultural center of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.
MAZ - Managing Company of BelavtoMAZ Holding Company, MTZ, BATE - Managing Company of Avtokomponenty Holding Company presented their joint project proposals for Japanese partners.
Machine-building is one of the most dynamically developing sectors of the Belarusian economy, Belarus Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Korchik said at the event. Automotive industry, metallurgy, petrochemistry, woodworking, and light industry have been overhauled and are great contributors to the growth of the industrial complex. Belarus has successfully branched out into the passenger car sector and is actively working on electric transport vehicles, he said.
The participants of the event were provided with detailed information about Belarus' investment climate, the state and prospects of the country's machine-building industry and the biggest companies of the sector. The Japanese delegation was offered concrete cooperation projects.
The presentation was attended by representatives of over 20 Japanese companies operating in Russia, the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and New Independent States and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). “There was a meaningful discussion of the prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation,” the embassy noted. “Bilateral projects with Belarusian enterprises aroused a great interest in the Japanese business people,” the embassy added.More about Economy
