“We are exploring several projects in Mozambique, including the projects to assemble our equipment, to produce minerals. Now we are closely working with the relevant authorities and the leadership of Congo-Brazzaville. Most likely, we can participate in the oil production projects in that country. Equatorial Guinea is also of interest of us. There we are interested in oil production,” Viktor Sheiman noted.

When asked where in Africa Belarus is planning to participate in the development of mineral deposits, he said: “This year we will be developing oilfields in Sudan, Zimbabwe, Mozambique. Next year, perhaps, at the end of the year, we will take part in similar projects in Equatorial Guinea and Congo-Brazzaville.”

According to Viktor Sheiman, there are plans to set up a joint venture in the mining sector. “We will work on a wide range of minerals. We were given the green light to work in the oil sector, geological exploration and oil production, and also exploration and production of gas, geological exploration of minerals, including gold, and platinum, and rare-earth metals,” Viktor Sheiman said.

The participation in the gold mining projects in Sudan is also under consideration.
