Belarus parliament to finish bills to implement Entrepreneurship Development Ordinance in 2019

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – In 2019 Belarusian MPs will have to finish work on bills, which are needed to implement the Entrepreneurship Development Ordinance. Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich made the statement during the closing session of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament on 20 December, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Myasnikovich reminded that the head of state closely monitors the fulfillment of this instruction. Among other tasks for the year 2019 the speaker mentioned work on the draft main provisions of the program designed to guide Belarus' social and economic development till 2025. In 2019 the Council of the Republic will have to do some very responsible work on the draft provisions of the national social and economic development program and on the legal base for implementing them, said the senator. “There is a great deal of instructions and other pressing matters, which resolution cannot be postponed till tomorrow, as they say,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

Mikhail Myasnikovich is convinced that MPs should more actively seek assistance of scientists and experts. He reminded that a scientific advisory board operates under the aegis of the Presidium of the Council of the Republic. He said he would like the body to work more effectively.

Speaking about next year's tasks Mikhail Myasnikovich also mentioned the need to finish the establishment of a Belarusian youth parliament. Both chambers of the Belarusian parliament and municipal councils of deputies are working on it.

During the autumn session the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus passed 42 bills, which enable additional conditions for the sustainable development of the country. Mikhail Myasnikovich spoke at length about the next year's budget bill and the new revision of the Tax Code. He said the legal acts are instrumental for the country's economic development in 2019 and beyond. He also pointed out that the budget bill had granted larger autonomy to the regions and more independence to municipal budgets. The bulk of proposals the Council of the Republic made on these matters have been approved, the speaker noted.
