Belarus, Pakistan discuss assembly production of tractors, electric vehicles

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Pakistan are discussing the establishment of assembly productions of tractors and electric vehicles, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik told the media after the talks with his Pakistani counterpart in Islamabad on 30 May, BelTA has learned.

One of the topics discussed at the meeting was the development of trade and economic cooperation. This topic was discussed by the parties at the meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission in Minsk in January.

“The advantage of Belarus is that we always offer our partners not just a simple commodity exchange, but the implementation of complex cooperative projects. This always increases mutual benefits, promotes greater employment, exchange of technologies and so on. That is why we are considering the development of assembly productions of Belarusian tractors and electric vehicles in Pakistan,” Sergei Aleinik said.

According to him, Belarusian business is interested in supplies of agricultural, mining and road construction equipment, pharmaceuticals and wood processing products. Pakistani textiles, rice, fruits, medical instruments, leather goods and sports equipment are in demand in Belarus.

“We are ready for an honest and open dialogue with Pakistani business in all areas without exception. There is mutual interest and significant potential, and we need to continue working on its implementation,” the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs said.
