Belarus named Persian Gulf's most active partner by Dubai

MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has released a report on investment cooperation of Persian Gulf countries with the Commonwealth of Independent States. The report indicates that Belarus is the most active partner of the Arab states, BelTA has learned.

The report titled as A Common Wealth: Building Gulf-CIS Ties is timed to the global business forum of the CIS member states, which is scheduled to take place in Dubai on 18-19 February. The report has been compiled by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is a non-governmental organization that unites businessmen of the United Arab Emirates and represents their interests.

Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was quoted as saying that the report will serve as a roadmap for investors from the Persian Gulf. The report presents information about the economic and business climate in the CIS states.

According to the report, out of the CIS states Belarus is the most active country in signing trade agreements with countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia). Belarus is followed by Russia and Uzbekistan.

The report mentions aviation, logistics, hospitality industry, retail and real estate as the key avenues of investment in the CIS states for Persian Gulf countries.
