Belarus-Mongolia trade in food doubles in January-September 2021

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) - The trade in food and agricultural raw materials between Belarus and Mongolia more than doubled in January-September 2021, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry played host to a meeting with a delegation of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia led by Director of the Policy and Planning Department Tsendgombo Bolorchuluun. The parties discussed bilateral trade and economic relations.

Mongolia is interested in organizing deliveries of high-yield breeding cattle of Belarusian selection as part of the intergovernmental general agreement on export credit.

Talks were also held with Chief Veterinary Officer of Mongolia Basan Ganzorig to discuss coordination of veterinary certificates for supplies of poultry and pedigree cattle.

According to the press service, in January-August 2021 Belarus' trade in food products and agricultural raw materials with Mongolia amounted to $7.2 million (up 2.2 times) and consisted entirely of exports. The main export were skimmed milk powder (up 2.4 times) and whole milk powder (up 42.2%).
