Belarus, Moldova consider convening intergovernmental commission on trade, economy

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) - Belarus and Moldova are considering holding another meeting of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Moldovan commission on trade and economic cooperation in Minsk in the near future, taking into account the current epidemiological precautions, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This issue was discussed, among others, during a meeting between Belarusian Ambassador to Moldova Anatoly Kalinin and Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu.

"The parties noted the friendly and mutually beneficial nature of Belarusian-Moldovan relations in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian and other areas," the press service informed. “Anatoly Kalinin stressed the continued readiness of Belarus to share its experience in the modernization of housing stock and elevators, which can be in demand in Moldova as the country develops appropriate social programs."

The parties agreed to continue constructive interaction in all areas, including the implementation of joint projects in industry and transport, the opening of direct railway service between the capitals of the two states, and road construction with the attraction of domestic and international funds.
