MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – A total of 7,345,000 tonnes of milk was produced in Belarus in 2018, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
As of 1 January 2019 the cattle population in the agricultural enterprises of all kinds made up 4.3 million. The number of hogs totaled 2.8 million, poultry 51.2 million birds.
In 2018, the agricultural enterprises of all kinds sold 1,728,700 tonnes of livestock and poultry (in live weight). The share of poultry sold for slaughter accounted for almost 40% of the total sales, that of livestock for 31.4%, hogs for 28.7%.
