MINSK, 5 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian textile manufacturer Kamvol seeks to branch out into the markets of the United States and Canada, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom.
“We are in talks with partners from far abroad, i.e. international trading houses Alliance Apparel Group Inc. from the United States and Les Entreprises Presidentielles Inc. from Canada, which specialize in the production of clothing made of wool, cotton, linen fabrics, yarn and synthetic fibers,” the press service said.
In Q1 2020 Kamvol established cooperation with a number of major partners, including in the Eurasian Economic Union. Among them were distributors in Russia, Armenia, and Uzbekistan. The Belarusian company signed $7.5 million worth of contracts over the period.
According to Bellegprom, in 2019 Kamvol increased supplies 1.3 times to Russia, 1.5 times to Ukraine, 3.2 times to Uzbekistan, 1.3 times to Moldova, and 16 times to Azerbaijan. The company sells to 17 countries.
Kamvol is Belarus' only and the CIS largest producer of pure wool and semi wool suit and dress fabrics, pure wool, semi wool, polyacrylonitrile knitted and woven yarn with a complete production cycle. The company's key partners are Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
