MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) – The Belarus-India Industrial Forum was held in New Delhi on 17 March, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The event took place under the auspices of the Confederation of Indian Industry. The forum was co-organized by the National Center for Marketing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

The Belarusian delegation was represented by Belkommunmash, Minsk Automobile Plant, Minsk Tractor Works, Gomselmash and Lidagroprommash. It was led by Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik.

Dmitry Kharitonchik showcased Belarus' industrial and export potential. Negotiations were held with more than 60 representatives of the Indian business community. “The Indian side positively assessed the potential of Belarusian manufacturers and expressed its readiness to expand contacts,” the Belarusian embassy noted.

Dmitry Kharitonchik also met with senior executives of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India to discuss the state and prospects of interaction and joint projects in the manufacturing sector. “It was agreed that an Indian industry delegation will return a visit to Belarus. India pledged support for mutually beneficial joint projects in the manufacturing sector in India,” the diplomatic mission said.
