Belarus-Hungary economic cooperation commission plans to convene in spring

MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Hungary plan to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in the spring, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik told journalists following his meeting with Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, BelTA has learned.

The parties scrutinized the existing agreements. “The time has come, and we have agreed to hold a regular meeting of the Belarus-Hungary intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in the near future,” the foreign minister said.

“We hope that the meeting will take place in the spring,” the Belarusian foreign minister added.

According to him, taking into account the structure of the two economies and their major exports, there are prospects to expand and diversify mutual trade, primarily the supplies of pharmaceuticals and agricultural products.
