Belarus' grain harvest over 90% complete

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarus has harvested some 1.9 million hectares of grain (except for maize), which makes 91.1% of the cropping areas, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 20 August, Belarusian farmers harvested over 6.1 million tonnes of grain, with the average yield of 31.5 centners per hectare (26.5 centners per hectare last year).

Minsk Oblast has produced 1,612,900 tonnes of grain cutting 94.3% of its areas. Brest Oblast's harvest is 99.3% complete (almost 1.2 million tonnes of grain). Grodno Oblast harvested 97.4% of its areas (over 1.17 million tonnes of grain).

Harvest in Gomel Oblast is 90.5% complete (637,700 tonnes of grain). Mogilev Oblast has harvested 90.1% of its areas, making 704,200 tonnes of grain. Vitebsk Oblast has cut 74% of its areas to produce 789,600 tonnes of grain.

The procurement order on grain is 815,000 tonnes this year. The order is 85.1% (693,300 tonnes) complete.
