Belarus government instructed to draw up strategy for more active subsoil use

MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian government needs to prepare a strategy for more active use of subsoil resources, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said when speaking at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko urged more active use of the subsoil resources. “I expect a comprehensive government strategy in this area,” the President said. “The country has a strong complex of exploration, a wealth of experience and expertise in exploration and field development. The strategy should provide for the ways of using this potential in foreign markets,” the head of state noted.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the country faces important strategic tasks in the transport sector, namely the development of transport and logistics infrastructure. “We need to increase the speed of rail traffic, improve communication with the closest seaports create automated warehouses and transhipment points,” he noted.

“We need this in order to ensure prompt flexible deliveries with international companies, reduce the stocks of materials and components at enterprises,” the head of state said.
