Belarus' government adopts action plan for H2 2020

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – The action plan of the Council of Ministers and the Presidium of the Council of Ministers for the second half of 2020 was formalized by Government's Resolution No. 406 as of 8 July 2020, BelTA learned from the press service of the Council of Ministers.

The Council of Ministers is to take stock of Belarus' social and economic development in January-June and discuss the country's development in January-September 2020, as well as draft forecasts of Belarus' social and economic development, major monetary policy guidelines and the 2021 budget.

The Presidium of the Council of Ministers is to discuss social and economic objectives for the period till 2025, conceptual approaches to the social and economic forecasts till 2021 and till 2023, major fiscal policy guidelines till 2021.

In addition to that, the government will review progress in implementing and updating the petrochemical complex promotion strategy till 2023, the export of goods and services, import substitution and measures to accelerate social and economic development of 11 towns with a population of over 80,000.

There are plans to review the social and economic development program for the period of 2021-2025 and draft state programs for the same period.

The government will also discuss the state of affairs in the agricultural industry, in particular, preparations for the harvesting, fodder production, construction and renovation of dairy farms and pig-breeding complexes.

The action plan features 14 points.
