Belarus' food producers explore 19 new sales markets

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Belarus started exporting its agricultural products and foodstuffs to 19 new destinations in January-November 2018, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

“In January-November 2018, Belarus shipped agricultural products and foodstuffs to 95 countries worldwide (to 86 destinations in January-November 2017). Milk and dairy products were exported to 58 countries, meat and meat products to 19 countries. Thus, the country's agricultural producers penetrated 19 new sales markets,” the ministry noted.

Over 11 months 2018, domestic companies exported $4.8 billion worth of agricultural products and foodstuffs, up by 4.9% over the same period in 2017. The foreign currency revenues rose by $224 million.

Agricultural products and foodstuffs accounted for 15.5% of Belarus' commodity export.
