Belarus, Finland to scale up cooperation in forest industry

MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Finland have agreed to ramp up cooperation in the forest and paper industry, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Finland.

Cooperation prospects were discussed at a meeting in Helsinki. Taking part in the meeting were Belarus' Ambassador to Finland Aleksei Samosuyev, top managers of Svetlogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill, and the head of the Finnish Forest Industries Federation.

“The parties discussed Belarusian-Finnish contacts in the forest and paper industry and outlined cooperation plans. The Belarusian delegation informed their Finnish counterparts about the main investment projects carried out in Belarus in this sector,” the embassy said.

Representatives of Bellesbumprom Concern (Belarusian Production and Trade Concern of Timber, Woodworking and Pulp and Paper Industry) will also meet with representatives of local companies during their visit to Finland.
