MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – The export of Belarusian agricultural products to Hungary soared more than three times in 2019 to make up $793,400, Head of the Main Department for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry Aleksei Bogdanov told the media on 4 June, BelTA has learned.
Belarus and Hungary have been steadily developing trade and economic relations. Last year the trade in agricultural products and foodstuffs between the two countries amounted to $17.398 million, up 12.3% compared to 2018. Exports of Belarusian agricultural products more than tripled over the period. Among the main export items were various oilseeds, shellfish and other products. Hungary, in turn, supplied the Belarusian market with seed corn, live poultry, vegetables, mineral water, live plants, seeds, chocolate and other products.
In Q1 this year saw an increase in the Belarus- Hungary trade in agricultural products and foodstuffs. “In January-March of this year, the trade rose by 9.6% year-on-year and amounted to more than $5 million. During this period Belarusian exports went up 1.2 times to total $181,200,” Aleksei Bogdanov said.
