MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – In January-July 2023 Belarus' export of merchandise and services was close to $27 billion. It is a record-high figure since 2012, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Kartun, who commented on economy's performance in January-August 2023.

Andrei Kartun said: “In the seven months the export of goods and services rose by 6.4% and came close to $27 billion. It is the maximum figure since 2012.”

The share of investment goods in the structure of the export basket went beyond 13%, which is the maximum figure in the last 16 years. At the same time the share of raw materials and components dropped. The export of trucks rose by nearly 17%, with the export of trailers and semi-trailers up by 2.7 times and the export of buses up by 17.5%. It is worth noting that export increased on top of last year's basis when export growth was measured with two-digit numbers.

Export increased by more than a quarter thanks to an increase in physical volumes of shipments. The export growth rate in physical terms totaled 126.6% in January-July.
