MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) - Belarus expects to take part in the second Russia-Africa economic forum, which is scheduled for July 2023 in St. Petersburg, Head of the Africa and Middle East Office of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yuri Nikolaichik said in a new episode of BelTA's YouTube project “After the Fact: Lukashenko's Decisions”.
“We are negotiating with the Russian side our participation in the second Russia-Africa forum to be held in late July in St. Petersburg. Russia is willing to help us. There is our interest to be represented at this forum primarily in business and humanitarian segments. This is a good option to establish new contacts and strengthen existing ones,” the representative of the ministry said.
According to him, Belarus is also actively involved in other business events held by Russia. For example, last year a delegation of the Belarusian Industry Ministry met with its Algerian counterparts as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. “As a result of the meeting, the Algerian delegation was invited to visit Belarus. We are now working with the Algerian side on the details of such a visit,” Yuri Nikolaichik said.
