MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – Banca Intesa (a Russian subsidiary bank of Italy's Intesa Sanpaolo Group) has provided a €20 million loan to the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian bank.

“We have a long history of fruitful cooperation with Banca Intesa. In December 2015 a debut joint deal took place. In other words, this year we mark a kind of cooperation anniversary. Successful completion of a major loan project is a testimony to the determination of our banks to strengthen and promote mutually beneficial partner relations,” Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank Ivan Varenitsa said.

Natalia Malanicheva, Head of the Trade Finance Department of Banca Intesa, noted that the Development Bank is one of the leaders of Belarus' banking sector. For many years it has been a reliable partner for Banca Intesa.

“We are ready to keep cooperating with such an authoritative financial institution in order to facilitate economic growth and implementation of most socially important investment programs both in Belarus and in the Union State,” Natalia Malanicheva emphasized.
