Belarus' Development Bank considering investing in joint projects in Uzbekistan

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – During a recent visit to Uzbekistan a delegation of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) discussed possibilities of financing joint projects with representatives of Uzbek credit and finance institutions, dealers of Belarusian companies in Uzbekistan, and partner companies, representatives of the Embassy of Belarus in Uzbekistan told BelTA.

The Belarusian delegation and Ambassador of Belarus to Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich met with representatives of the National Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity, representatives of the country's top commercial banks, representatives of the Tashkent city administration, the Tashkent city mass transit system operator TashkentTrans, and an agricultural machinery engineering holding company.

A roundtable session was arranged in the embassy. Representatives of more than ten dealers of leading Belarusian companies took part in it as well as partner companies to discuss effective schemes to provide financial and credit support to joint projects taking into account capabilities of OAO Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus and Uzbek credit and finance institutions.
