Belarus' Development Bank allowed to lend more to government programs, projects

MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – Quotas of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus for lending to government programs and projects in 2021 have been raised by the Council of Ministers' resolution No.334 of 15 June 2020. The document was published in the national registry of laws and regulations on 18 June, BelTA has learned.

According to the document, the funding of government programs, measures, and projects in accordance with decisions of the head of state has been raised to Br347.94 million. In particular, the sum includes Br10.97 million in funding available according to the presidential decree on the development of Mogilev Oblast's southeast.

The total volume of lending has been raised to Br1.043 billion as a result.

The resolution comes into force as of the publication date.

Founded in 2011, the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) is a specialized financial institution. The DBRB's priorities include financing long-term and capital-intensive investment projects in the course of implementation of government programs and projects. Apart from that, the DBRB provides lending support to Belarusian export.
