MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Belarus' confectionery industry exported 30,400 tonnes of confectionery products in January-September 2022, chairman of the Belarusian food industry concern Belgospishcheprom Oleg Zhidkov said in an interview with the Economy of Belarus magazine, BelTA has learned.
Confectionery factories affiliated with the Belgospishcheprom concern exported 17,300 tonnes of confectionery products to 19 countries, almost all continents. These are the CIS countries, the markets of Asian countries, and also Europe and North America.
"We have overcome the difficulties related to the reorientation of export flows. In terms of tonnage, export remained at the level of last year. On the heels of the global growth in food prices, cash proceeds from export rose by 21%," Oleg Zhidkov said.
"We aim for new heights in terms of export and geography of sales," he added.
In January-September of this year, confectionery factories of Belarus produced 100,900 tonnes of confectionery products. Companies affiliated with Belgospishcheprom accounted for over 60% of the output.
"Today we do not have a single company that would report losses. All enterprises operate in the black. I hope that this dynamics will continue into next year," the head of the concern said.
